I followed the below steps to establish passwordless ssh from Linux to Windows.
# ssh-keygen
# ssh-copy-id userid@WindowsHostname
Which failed.
# ssh userid@hostname
Is there any way to achieve this?
linux windows ssh debian

Probably a bit redundant, but Windows systems don't have a SSH daemon installed by default. If you already installed one and it is running, check the the server logs to see why you were not able to log in (with a password) to copy your public key.
